A divine mission has once again united the Humans, Spirits, and Angels of Innistrad. Together, these protectors will stand against the shadows, fighting for humanity's salvation. Evil rules the night. Shambling hordes of the dead roam free, their cemetery gates in ruins, as powerful Demons soar overhead. The fate of the living remains shrouded in darkness. Will you defend hope or snuff it out?

Duel Decks: Divine vs Demonic

An endless war rages in the heavens.
The skies blacken and crackle with dark magic. Bellows of grim laughter drown out the beating of black, leathery wings. The demons have come. Then, a ray of golden light pierces the darkness. A flight of angels arrives, swords gleaming. The champions of law have arrived to cleanse the sky. Now, planeswalker, you will wage this eternal battle between good and evil against one of your own kind. Which celestial force will prevail?

Duel Decks: Elspeth vs Kiora

The knight Planeswalker Elspeth Tirel sees herself as the protector of the Multiverse. She has pledged her sword and shield to all who suffer, and she summons forth impressive armies to assist her. The merfolk Planeswalker Kiora calls upon the creatures of the deepest oceans to fight at her side. She is the master of the world beneath the waves, her true power only now beginning to surface. How will these Planeswalkers measure up when they meet in battle?

Duel Decks: Elspeth vs Tezzeret

Elspeth fled her home plane at a young age after it was corrupted by a sinister force that enslaved her and her community. She found Bant, a sunny kingdom seemingly free from evil, and became one of its knights. But when the Conflux caused the shards of Alara to reconverge, the plane of Grixis and its wicked denizens intruded upon Bant. Unable to endure the possibility of another dark tyranny, Elspeth left Bant in search of a new, peaceful home.
Before the Conflux on Alara had begun, Tezzeret was a promising young artificer who aspired to become one of the Seekers of Carmot, a secretive organization that claimed to hold the secrets of etherium, the arcane alloy that infuses every living thing on the shard of Esper. After being rejected by the Seekers, Tezzeret discovered that the cabal was in reality controlled by the ancient dragon Nicol Bolas. When Tezzeret was caught and stabbed by the Seekers’ guards, he planeswalked to Grixis, only to be confronted by Bolas himself.

The Izzet League, under the ingenious mind of its guildmaster, the dragon Niv-Mizzet, has dabbled, delved, and decoded many mysteries in its insatiable thirst for knowledge. Now the dracomagus seeks to plumb the depths of Ravnica’s undercity. But the Golgari don’t welcome interlopers in their dank, moldy realm.
Under the command of the elvish lich lord Jarad, the Golgari have dwelled in darkness long enough. The Swarm grows restless and its rot farms need fresh corpses. Jarad believes the time is right to teach Niv-Mizzet’s magewrights a lesson: that there is no place for Izzet research in the vicious cycle of life and death.

Duel Decks: Jace vs Chandra

Duel Decks: Jace vs Vraska

Jace Beleren, a mind mage who has adopted Ravnica as his home, has seen to it that the delicate peace holds. He has become the Living Guildpact, the embodiment of the guilds’ agreement to share power, and he works tirelessly to preserve that peace.
The deadly gorgon Vraska, a Planeswalker who was born on Ravnica, is an assassin for hire who follows her own arcane moral code. She is a master of her trade, killing her marks and then disappearing into the tunnels of Ravnica’s vast undercity. In the wrong hands, Vraska’s skills could destabilize an entire world. With a few key assassinations, suspicions would lead to accusations, and accusations could lead to war. Jace, the caretaker of Ravnica’s peace, refuses to let that happen.

Duel Decks: Knights vs Dragons

The greatest knights have gathered together to once and for all end the reign of terror that has plagued their lands for centuries. Holy paladins, noble cavaliers, and swift skyhunters all answer the call to hunt dragons to the death and restore order to the realm.
For dragonkind, the answer is simple—incinerate the invaders! Enraged goblin minions pour from the mountain crags to repel the intruders, but that’s only to give the majestic hellkites time to take to the skies and unleash a firestorm that no knight could hope to survive.

Duel Decks: Merfolk vs Goblins

Merfolk vs. Goblins pits two of the most recognizable tribes in the history of Magic against one another. Will you side with the reckless and wily goblins or the graceful and cunning merfolk? Trapped on Zendikar for centuries, the demon Ob Nixilis will do anything to reignite his Planeswalker spark and escape. He summons terrifying Demons and wields dark, destructive powers to lay his enemies to waste.
The stakes are high as Nissa and Ob Nixilis fight to control the power of the Khalni Heart. Who will prevail?

Duel Decks: Phyrexia vs Coalition

The overlay of the Phyrexian plane of Rath has unleashed a scourge upon Dominaria. Single-minded and unyielding, the Phyrexian army uses the power of black mana to fuel efficient killing machines that seek to eliminate all in its path.
For Dominaria, victory is the only option. The Coalition, representing the five colors of mana, has united under the leadership of Gerrard Capashen to combat the Phyrexian invaders.
When these opposing forces wage war, devastation can be the only outcome. The question then remains, where will you stand?

Duel Decks: Sorin vs Tibalt

Sorin, with his long-sighted, vampiric perspective, knows that humanity may lose its tenuous grip on survival if Innistrad's monstrous forces hunt too recklessly. The young pain-mage Tibalt, on the other hand, respects no authority but his own vicious whims. As they clash, neither will tolerate anything but the utter defeat of his foe. Who will prevail is up to you.

Duel Decks: Speed vs Cunning

Shrieking Hordes Confront Tactical Masters
Racing across the blazing steppe, the wave of attackers crests the barren hills. Nothing can stop their reckless advance. These warriors live fast, fight hard, and strike terror into the hearts of those in their path. The scarred countryside seems abandoned. Then, suddenly, hidden fighters spring from ambush. The overconfident enemy recoils in surprise, outflanked and outsmarted. Who will prevail, the swift or the sly?

Duel Decks: Venser vs Koth

Two Planeswalkers, one compassionate, one calculating, gave their all to save a world.
The Planeswalker Koth, from the metal plane of Mirrodin, sought help when his world darkened. He traveled to Dominaria to enlist allies and met fellow Planeswalker Venser.
When Venser recognized the threat to Koth’s world was none other than Phyrexia, he knew that the only hope for Mirrodin was to find its maker. But that would mean forsaking its people in the meantime.
Koth would rather die than turn his back on his fellow Mirrans. But Venser knew they would all die anyway if they failed to reach Karn, his former mentor and creator of Mirrodin.
Two Planeswalkers, one goal, very different methods. Recreate the struggle to lead the way to Mirrodin’s salvation.

Duel Decks: Zendikar vs Eldrazi

Drawing on the powerful mana that surges through the roiling land, Zendikar's forces have joined together to defend their plane. Unhinged

After ten years. Wait, make that thousands of years, the war between the donkeys and the monkeys has escalated to the point where, um, where parrots have turned carnviorous and pigs are forced to wear togas. You see, there's war and chaos and fighting. Lots of fighting. Let's see... oh, there's five factions that have evolved as the chaotic war wages on. We haven't been to this plane before and who knows when we're coming back, so I'm not sure what impact it has with the larger Magic story. I'm sure some object in the world is a piece of Karn somehow.
Who am I kidding? There's probably like five of you still reading. Look, I'll be honest with you. Unhinged has no story. There's no novel forthcoming. Nothing has any logic to it. There's no point to anything. It's just funny. It's unlike any Magic expansion you've ever played. Well, except Unglued. It's a lot like Unglued. But bigger. And weirder. And funnier.

Unstable

Gather your friends and get your drafting sleeves ready, this new silver bordered non-tournament-legal set contains 216-ish of the wackiest, craziest cards around. Gain life by high-fiving your friends, make cards fly by picking them up, and compliment your opponents, this set’s unlike anything you’ve seen before.

Vangard Singles

These cards are not tournament legal.
The Vanguard format allows players to play with a special extra "card" that modifies the rules of the game just for them. You enter a Vanguard game with a normal constructed deck in the format of your choice, plus a preselected Vanguard card. Players must agree on which format (Standard, Modern, Legacy or Vintage) they will use to build their decks.
The oversized (3" x 5") Vanguard cards aren't played like regular cards. Instead, each player chooses one of the character cards before the match begins and plays under the conditions set by that card.
A Vanguard card modifies your starting (and maximum) hand size, as well as your starting life total. It also contains one or more abilities. Sometimes they're abilities that you can play; sometimes they're abilities that just change aspects of the game. Any abilities printed on a Vanguard card work exactly like those of an in-play Magic card. Note, however, that Vanguard cards are colorless, aren't permanents, aren't in play, and aren't even really cards — so they can't be affected by spells or abilities.

Welcome Deck 2016

Welcome Deck 2016 is a 16-card reprint set which accompanies the release of the Shadows over Innistrad block as well as the Kaladesh block.
These cards, numbered 001 to 016, do not appear in booster packs, but are Standard-legal as long as Shadows over Innistrad is Standard-legal
All cards are mono-colored and each color has one common, one uncommon and one rare except for black which has two commons instead.

World Championship

World Championship Decks were specially packaged versions of four of the top ranked decks used during the Magic World Championships, released by Wizards of the Coast for the years 1997 through 2004. The cards produced were gold-bordered versions, and thus are not legal for use in DCI-sanctioned tournaments. The cards were also stamped with the player's autograph. Each competitor's release included their 60-card deck and 15-card sideboard, 12 blank proxy cards, and cards with a printed decklist, a biography of the player, and an overview of the four decks release for their respective year. Due to the larger than usual collection of 90 cards per product the deck boxes for World Championship Decks were slightly larger in size than typical Theme deck boxes of the era.

Challenge Decks

A Challenge Deck is preconstructed theme deck with special Magic: The Gathering cards. It is a self-running deck with its own set of rules, also known as "player vs. environment". The challenge cards have special card backs, which means they aren't counted as regular Magic cards. When playing against the challenge deck players may use hero cards.
Playing against challenge decks is a casual multiplayer variant of Magic, much like Horde Magic. The players each have 20 life and take their turn simultaneously. Players may begin the game with up to two hero cards in their command zone to assist in defeating the challenge deck. The players win when they meet the challenge deck's win condition. The challenge deck is victorious if all of the players have been eliminated from the game.
